Born the son of a dairy farmer in Concord, WI, Lloyd graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He served as an officer in the US Navy in the Pacific during WWII and the Naval Reserve until his passing. After WWII, he worked as an accountant for Pete, Marwick, and Mitchell in Milwaukee, WI and as a corporate executive for Hein Werner in Waukesha, WI and Coolidge Auto Glass in Wisconsin. After retiring, he started a charitable entity by convincing a local bakery to donate rather than trash their 2-day-old bread. For six nights a week for several years, he picked up and delivered the bread to various charitable organizations all over the entire Metro-Milwaukee area. Eventually the charitable organizations sent their own trucks to pick up the bread. Lloyd was an avid football fan of the University of Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. He was also very interested in both national and international news.
