Born Lynne E. Umphrey in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1942, she was vivacious and spirited growing up and in her college years at Indiana University. Her sense of adventure led her to California in her twenties where she began work in the entertainment industry at 20th Century Fox.
Lynne eventually returned to Indianapolis to be near her parents, Tom and Eleanor Umphrey, and raise her two boys with her characteristic spirit and determination.
After moving to Florida in the 1980s, Lynne found her calling at Universal Studios where she took inspiration from her work and her colleagues. It was there that she met her true love, Jim Canfield, and they were married in 1994. She retired in 2004.
Lynne loved cool nights with a fire, Notre Dame Football, good chili and quality time with her beloved Yellow Lab, Dolly.
She is survived by her husband Jim, her two sons Chris and Ian Kenney, Jim’s children James, Kathleen Lewis and Christine Matthews and 13 grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Tom Umphrey and her parents, Tom and Eleanor.
