Mario Anthony

ANTHONY, MARIO, 89, of Orlando passed away 1/11/13 from complications of pneumonia. He was born in New York City and grew up in the Bronx. Mario spent most of his career with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co, holding multiple positions before retiring as a manager in Human Resources. He served in the Navy during WWII from 1942 to 1946 seeing action in Tunisia and Italy. Mario graduated from Fordham Univ. with a business degree in 1952. He enjoyed traveling, was active in the Boy Scouts of America in Astoria, NY, volunteered for the Orlando Science Center, the Orlando Sheriff's Department and the Homeowners Board of his community. Mario was predeceased by his wife, Lola, his son Michael, grandson Louis, brothers Anthony Timothy, and Chris. He is survived by his daughter Maria Louke (Joe), his granddaughter Lisa Chambers, great-grandchildren Shealeigh and Ava, brother Spiro (Patty) and sisters Evelyn Papa (Frank) and Athena Vitale (Anthony), nieces, nephews. He is also survived by his loving

companion of 19 years, Cornelia Georgantas.

Visitation and services will be held at 10:00am Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1217 Trinity Woods Lane, Maitland. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
