Mildred Banks Strickland, 90, of Orlando, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 19, 2014. Mrs. Strickland was born in Iron City, Ga. on October 1, 1923 to the late Benjamin Lewis and Annie Mildred Banks. She retired from Southern Bell. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Strickland, her brothers, Edwin, Harold, Lt. Col. Karl, and Douglas Banks, She is survived by her son Edward (Mary) Strickland, and her daughter Debra Strickland Irvine. She has four grandchildren, Lee (deceased,) Amy, Chad and Emily and five great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Food and refreshments are immediately following the graveside service.
