Mildred “Millie” Roth, 86, of Apopka, FL passed away suddenly on January 18, 2014. She was born on August 22, 1927 in Keansburg, NJ to the late Frank and Mary Bonomo. Millie was a fierce mother who put her family first. She was known as a feisty woman who’s vocabulary did not contain the word “retire,” as she was constantly working and helping wherever she could. Millie married her loving husband, David, on June 8, 1957. Together they raised two children, Marty and Shelley. Millie worked for Bambergers (later Macy’s) in NJ for over 10 years prior to raising her family. She worked her way to Executive Secretary for the Senior V.P. Millie loved slot machines and regular trips to Atlantic City with her girls, fishing and spending time on the water, and desserts! She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Millie was preceded in her passing by her brothers Chester, Nino, and Pat.
She is survived by her husband, David; Son, Marty Roth (Mimi); Daughter, Shelley and fiancé Tim Crum; Brothers, Frank and Joseph; and Sister, Mary.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. In honor and celebration of Millie’s style, the family requests guests wear their jeans and sneakers for the viewing time.
