Norman passed away peacefully with his family at his side after an 18-month battle with aggressive cancer. He will be missed.
Norman was a kind-hearted, very intelligent man that enjoyed life-long learning with keen interest in food and cooking; stamp collecting; modern Scandinavian design; world and military history; reading and books; type (casting, setting and collecting) and printing of the written word.
He graduated with high honors in 1966 from RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Type Lithography.
Norman severed in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 working as a lithographer (Naval Service Medal recipient)
Printer by trade, Norman worked for Brown & Bigleow, West Publishing, & Owned and operated the Hansestadt Letter Foundry, in St. Paul, MN., Affiliated with the Ampersand Club of Minneapolis, MN. Most notable achievement in printing of the Folio copy of the 1987 book ‘Spillville’.
Proceeded by parents - Lawrence & Phyllis Fritzberg and brother - Roger.
Survived by Barbara K. Fritzberg (D); brother – Bruce; sons - Erik (Lisa) & Christian (John) and granddaughter, Merryn
Private Services and internment. Memorials to Animal Humane Society or donor’s choice.
