

Ray T. Cox, Jr., 85, of Orlando, Florida passed away on November 16th, 2013, the day after his 85th birthday on November 15th. Ray was born in Bachelor, Missouri to the late Ray Sr. and Mary Cox. He served in the Unites States Air Force and retired after over 20 years of service. While home on leave at the start of his military career, Ray met his wife, Betty R. Ross, and the two were married in 1952. After serving his country, Ray managed Quality Mobile Home Park and retired a second time as a Property Appraiser. Ray was very involved in his community. He was awarded the 33rd Degree as a Mason, and was also an Eastern Star, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. Ray was very proud that he was a District Deputy Grand Master. Ray loved traveling across the state visiting other lodges, as well as some out-of-state, and was well-admired by many Masons throughout the state. Ray enjoyed NASCAR, trains, fried chicken, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty R. Cox; daughter Linda Prince (Stevan); and grandson Michael Betsinger and his partner Michael Kelly.
Visitation will be held from 12pm-1:15pm on Wednesday, November 20th at Woodlawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:30pm followed by a Masonic Service.
Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
A Reception will be held following the burial at “the greatest little lodge on the south side,” Pine Castle Masonic Lodge #368 1216 Hoffner Avenue Pine Castle, FL 32809.
Family requests memorial contributions be made to Pine Castle Masonic Lodge, #368 in honor of Ray.
