Ray was a graduate of Edgewater High and 4th generation of an old Pioneer Family, whose grocery store was on Pine Street, downtown.
Ray retired 2nd level manager of Bell South after 35 years and served for 15 years as Director of Insight Credit Union.
Volunteering for OPD, he received the highest award, Chief Special Award for his contribution toward volunteering for and with SWAT. When the Crisis Negotiation Van arrived at the police department, he wired its entirety.
In Ray's spare time, he had a love for hunting, fishing, boating and was a devoted husband to his wife Peggy Reed. They lived together for 30 years in Lancaster Park.
