

Bobbie was born in Miami, Florida on May 13, 1926. She is preceded in death by her mother Mary Smith, husband, U.S. Navy Commander Anthony M. Ziemba, of Orlando, Fl. Commander Ziemba retired from the Navy in 1969. Bobbie also is preceded in death by her sister Sherry May of Brunswick, Ga.
Bobbie worked for many years as a secretary at the Naval Officers Club, and also enjoyed real estate development. Her real joy was visiting her family far and wide, helping shut-ins and seeing her grandchildren.
Bobbie is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Young of Orlando, Fl and Toni Roberson Griffin and her husband Gary of Williamston.
Bobbie delighted in her five grandchildren: Natalie Strickler and her husband Greg of Debary, Fl, Lindsey Roberson of Wilmington, NC, Amy Young of Fort Meyers, Fl., Brett Roberson of Williamston, NC, Allison Young of Orlando, Fl., and one great granddaughter, Emily Gurkin of Debary, Fl. Bobbie also is survived by her nephew, Ted May and niece, Christy May both of Brunswick, Ga.
After living in her home in Orlando, Fl. for over thirty years, following her husband’s retirement from the Navy, Bobbie resided in Cypress Glen, in Greenville, NC and with her daughter Pamela Young in Orlando, Fl., before coming to live and die peacefully in Williamston, NC.
Bobbie’s family will remember her zealous spirit for life and new adventures, as well as her great love of family and friends. Bobbie loved to recount the story of the single engine airplane she won in a contest in the 1940’s and how she learned to fly it in Oxnard, California. Her family is grateful that Bobbie’s last flight carried her home to be fully restored and at peace with Jesus and family members gone before her, whom she loved and dearly missed.
The family extends their thanks for so many visits, love and kindness along her journey.
A celebration of her life will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Fri. 29th March at 10 AM with a viewing at 9 AM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband.
