

Bud graduated from Edgewater High School here in Orlando and earned his Batchelor’s degree in Business from Liberty University.
Bud had a successful career in Facilities Management retiring from Nextel/Sprint after serving Orange County as their facilities manager for many years. He began his career in construction following in his father’s footsteps. Bud built many houses, churches and commercial projects in Central Florida.
Bud proudly served the public as reserve deputy with Orange County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years retiring as a lieutenant. He loved his days as a deputy and often said that was his favorite job - even though he was never paid a dime.
Bud and Tommie are members of West Orlando Baptist Church. Bud and Tommie also served the Lord and their community as long term members of Powers Drive Baptist Church where Bud served as a deacon and in church leadership.
Bud’s passion was his family. He was very active in the lives of his kids. As a young family they were often camping with family and church friends. As the children grew Bud was active in all their activities including Indian Guides, Girl Scouts and of course 9 very busy years as Band Parents at Meadowbrook and Evans.
In retirement, Bud and Tommie enjoyed adventures traveling both in their motor home, cruises and their trip-of-lifetime across America where they visited family and saw many landmark sights. Bud also loved spending time with his grandsons - Little Buddy and Josh and even taught them carpentry skills when they built a tree house together. Bud has always been an animal lover and was devoted to his dogs Jasper, Bonnet, and Buster whom he rescued.
Bud loved dearly his extended family including nieces and nephews and enjoyed hosting many family gathering often doing much of the cooking for many, many years.
Bud is survived by his wife Tommie, daughter Teresa Hale (James), son Richard P Hosier, III (Suzette), grandsons Richard P. Hosier, IV, Joshua A. Hosier (Briana), sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara & Jerry McNutt. Bud was predeceased by his infant son Thomas Paul, his father Richard Paul Hosier, Sr, his mother Elma Launa Hosier, his sister Sylvia Sue Koons and brother Donald Martin Hosier.
A visitation for Bud will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at West Orlando Baptist Church, 1006 E Crown Point Rd, Ocoee, FL 34761. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 1006 E Crown Point Rd, Ocoee, FL 34761. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734
