

He was born on July 7, 1925, in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Edward C. Nagel and Carolyn P. Nagel.
Robert (Bob) enlisted in the US Marine Corps at the age of 17 during World War II. He received training in Searchlight and Radar in San Diego, California. He suffered a significant hearing loss during his training, resulting in an honorable discharge in 1944.
He relocated from the Northeast US with his family to Orlando, where he worked as a licensed journeyman electrician. In early 1956, while working at McCoy Air Force Base as a statistician, he met a beautiful secretary, June Price. After a brief engagement, they wed on June 9, 1956. Bob and June were married for nearly 66 years before June passed in April 2023. Together, they welcomed 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Bob worked many years at Cape Kennedy during the Gemini and Apollo missions in the 1960’s. Meanwhile, he owned and operated his own business ( Bob’s TV and Radio Repair) in Pine Castle, Florida. He left the Space Coast for work closer to home with Reedy Creek Utilities at the developing Walt Disney World Resort. Bob retired from Walt Disney World.
Bob enjoyed many interests such as rock hunting and collecting, lapidary, camping and boating, model trains, and gardening. Traveling for family visits was something he deeply loved and cherished.
Bob is preceded in death by his beautiful wife June P., his parents, Edward and Carolyn Nagel, his twin sister, Rachael (Rae) Kent, and brother, Richard W. Nagel.
He is survived by his children, Katherine (Thomas) Nikirk, James (Constance)Nagel, Robert C. (Heidi) Nagel, William (Susan)Nagel, Patricia (William)Marcella, and Thomas (Valerie)Nagel; his grandchildren, Arik (Brittainy) VanZandt, Kristin(Matthew)Ellis, John(Amber)Marcella, Lauren(Alex) Sims, Derek(Juliana)Nagel, Kyle Marcella, Sean Nagel, Austin Nagel, Ryan Nagel, Deven Nagel, Christopher Nagel, Gabrielle Mintz and Madeline Nagel; and great-grandchildren, Madison VanZandt, Lucas VanZandt, Grady VanZandt, Jacob Sims, Elliana Sims, Bowen Ellis, and Charlotte Ellis.
Please join the family in celebrating his life on November 16, 2025, at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida. Pre-service gathering and visitation beginning at 11:00am, followed by the service and internment in the same location.
