Robert Gary O’Brien, 71 of Windermere, Florida, passed away on May 20, 2012. Gary was born in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, on November 5, 1940 to Harry Thomas “Jack “and Mary Loeffler O’Brien. He grew up in St. Marys and attended Clarion University, Clarion, Pennsylvania. graduating in 1962. He later earned an MBA from Suffolk University, Boston, Massachusetts. He spent his professional career in the educational publishing field, retiring as Regional Vice President from SRA/McGraw-Hill in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Marilyn (Follette), brothers; COL RET USAF H.T. O’Brien of Alexandria, Virginia and Francis Patrick O’Brien of Boise, Idaho, as well as several nieces and nephews. Per Gary’s request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements will be handled by Woodlawn Funeral Home, Gotha, Florida. In lieu of flowers donations to Samaritan Care Hospice of Orlando, 1300 Semoran Blvd., Suite 210, Orlando, Florida 32807 or a charity of your choice in memory of Gary, would be greatly appreciated.
