Robert Ernest Peterson

PETERSON, ROBERT E. Age 92, passed away on December 10, 2015. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He moved to Orlando in 1963 following his retirement from the United States Air Force. During World War II, he served as an Air-Sea Rescue Pilot in the Pacific Theater. He was an Orange County school teacher at Glenridge Jr. High School from 1963-1985. He was a Rollins College graduate holding a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching. He was a past president, treasurer, and secretary of the Greater Orlando Teachers Bowling League. He was an avid golfer. He was a lifetime member of the Retired Enlisted Association and a lifetime member of the Military Officers Association of America. He is survived by his brother, Bill Peterson, sister-in-law, Ardath Peterson, two daughters, Terry Anne Findley of Orlando and Susan Peterson Miller of Bayfield, Colorado; sons-in-law, Steve Miller and Neil Findley; two grandchildren, Jennifer Applegate and Matthew Findley; 4 great grandchildren, Sydney Applegate, Macy Applegate, Henry Findley, and Parker Findley. Private funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mr. Peterson to the American Heart Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Cancer Society, or Alzheimers Assocation.
