After graduating Ron attended Milligan College and studied business and psychology. At Milligan while playing tennis, Ron met Lecretia Cook and immediately they fell in love and were married on July 25, 1959.
Ron and Cree then moved to Florida and he began a career in the Citrus Business. Ron started as a grove caretaker working with the BC Cook Enterprises Company and eventually rose to become its Chief Executive Officer. Ron would help Tiny in finding sponsors for his beloved number 55 racing cars. Ron often would take his entire family to Daytona many times even though Rocky and Todd were only five years old. Ron and Tiny remained best of friends for many years.
Ron, being an avid football player, himself was a huge fan of the college and professional leagues. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers (when they were not playing the Miami Dolphins) and the Florida State Seminoles.
Besides enjoying NASCAR and watching football Ron and Cree also had a vibrant love of Jesus and evangelism. In the early 1970’s Ron and Cree worked closely with Campus Crusade for Christ in helping spread the Gospel.
