Ruth A. Benitez, 94 of Orlando, FL passed away on January 11, 2021. She was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on March 17, 1926. Ruth had a passion for helping others and was a Registered Nurse. She went on to further specialize in Anesthesiology having achieve Nursing licenses for the states of New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Puerto Rico. She had a strong love for her Lord and was Baptist by her faith. Ruth enjoyed plants and working in her garden. She was a fantastic baker and made fresh bread every day for her family. She loved ceramics and had a passion for collecting elephants.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santiago Benitez in 2000 and by her granddaughter, Lauren Benitez in 2010. She is survived by her children: Jim Benitez and Awilda (Christopher) Collins; her brother, Daniel Acosta Sr., her four grandchildren Jamie, Sasha, Yanira, Jerrel and seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
