She married Handel West on October 26, 1996.
Ruth West had a career as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Philadelphia (Mayor's Office and Water Commissioner's Office). She was also a member of the Jamaica Progressive League and had a passion for ministry, visitation, prayer, cooking, knitting and sewing. She was very active at Tabernacle Baptist Church and participated in outreach programs in her community.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Scott, her siblings, Norma Henlin and Lambert Chambers and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a very generous and kindhearted person. She will be truly missed.
