I was one of Scott's home care nurses many many years ago.  I only now heard of his passing.  What an inspiration Scott was to so many people.  I will always remember Scott's sense of humor and his amazing zest for life.  Scott feared nothing and he lived his life to the absolute fullest.
I consider myself blessed to have known Scott.  I will forever hold his entire family in high esteem and with much respect and admiration.

My 8 year old son has Duchenne.  I used to read Scott's blog and it gave me such hope.  He brightened so many lives.  Even though I never met him in person, I really loved Scott. I just found out today that he's gone.  I just can't believe it.

I never met Scott, but he was such an inspiration to me. His love story with Rebekah touched me so deeply.

Mr. And Mrs. Sands and Nicky - Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. The impact Scott was able to make on so many people in so many places is truly a testament to his bravery and strength, much of which I'm sure was rooted in him by the love of his family. May God continue to bless and comfort you.

There's no limit to ones ability to make a positive change & impact in this world. A person is defined by their character and integrity, NOT by their physical limitations. It is a persons soul, their inner light, that will propel them to make an impact and change in this world. Scott, had that magnificent light inside him. It was a beacon that was seen and felt by all of us, from far and wide. The brilliance of his light, has ceased on this earth, but will forever illuminate in the hearts of those who loved him. May peace and love be with his beloved parents Nick and Lucy, his brother Nick,  extended family and all of us who were blessed to know him.

Scott was such an inspiration to so many.  You have earned your running shoes.  Be free!  To his family and friends, prayers are being said for comfort and peace.

I was glad to know Scoot, I never had the chance and that was I had always admired you and I regret never telling. I realized but. I had admired from a far.
                       Scott now you are not with your Lovelly Rebecca and your love for you beaiiful wife it was like a love story and that love story will continue in heaven. Your with God in the palm of his hand. You will be in my heart as long as I live until I see you  face in heaven and I believe I will see you again

It is truly amazing that a man confined to a wheelchair has touched people from all over the world.  How wonderful for the Sands family that they had such a special person in their lives.  I know Scott will be missed but we shall FOREVER celebrate his life.  With love and sympathy-

Scott you fought Duchenne for almost 48 years. You were a miracle and an inspiration to me and so many others. Your blog was the reason I started writing.
