It’s is now the year 2024 10 years and 10 months in which you left me.  There has never been a day that I do not think of you my Precious  son. Steve, gone but never forgotten.  My years of working with you will be etched in my mind forever.  You were the greatest.

Thoughts of Steve are never far...A comment is made, a place is passed and overwhelming grief comes through...The bond was stronger than ever realized...Rest in peace...

... and another Steve moment came to light today, that I shared with Tina and Zach... I remember the day Steve invited me to their home in Fallbrook/Woodland Hills ,CA. Steve called me at last minute and said, "Garrow!, don't forget to bring your tools!" Lol... I knew what that meant, yet I still enjoyed helping out on a few "honey do" issues and still having a beer with the boss and checking out his anniversary special Harley Davidson and custom rec room... Zach was such a happy kid... never forgotten...

Thoughts of Steve still come across every time a leadership moment is at hand, like I had today... especially in the construction environment. He had a way of getting a serious point across to all the masses, jovially and without vulgar, while getting the respect of corporate execs thru the brotherhood of trades. Truely missed.

Light shines in the darkness for good men; for those who are merciful, kind, and just,,,

George and I were utterly shocked and saddened beyond words to learn of the passing of Steve and son, Zachary; news came to us on Friday from Disney, California...George worked for Steve at both Disney Regional Entertainment and then onto Fox Sports Grill's...Steve was the best boss, and more importantly a beloved friend...he was wonderful to George, our son Ryan and myself...I have so many wonderful memories of us in California, thanks to Steve...Ryan remembers Zachary, playing with him and going to his sixth birthday party at Club Disney...I'm at a loss for words, Tina...We live in Celebration and once we returned to Florida George always thought he'd see Steve at a local restaurant...sending all the love in our hearts to you...the pain in our hearts is so great, I can hardly imagine your anguish and pain...With love always...

Steve was my mentor, surrogate father, and fearless leader. His advice was timeless and always accurate. His loss has devastated many. My heart is torn with the loss of Zach too. I cant put into words how all of us feel, hundreds, if not thousands of us! He pushed us all to be the best we can be with a charisma that was second to none.

Hi my boy's it's been a while. I love you and miss you very much; you both are the light of my life my heart is always with you.  Happy Valentine's Day my Loves.

Christmas has come and gone the firsts 1without you and your father.  I miss you both so much.  My heart breaks every day.  Please know I will always love you my son.

some people stroll through your life, some walk through and plenty of people simply intersect your path on their way to wherever they are going.   then there are those who stomp down their feet with conviction and announce that they are here to stay. the reverberation of that pronouncement forever impacts your life; the conviction is real, steadfast and certainly reassuring. steve miguel stomped his big muggle feet in my life about 20 years ago and that makes me one of the luckiest people in the world. 
now i have to learn to listen for his footsteps in my heart..maybe thats what heartbeats are made of:  all the footsteps of those we love and those we love and lost.

Tina, I was very shocked and saddened to hear the news on Steve and Zach.  I worked with Steve at Disney Burbank and he was a wonderful person.  I will keep you in my prayers.  Steve and Zach will be in my heart always.

Zachary I have loved being your mom every moment of your life.  You could be very trying at times.  But you were my baby boy and I loved more than all the stars in the sky.  I know when I look up you will be one of those bright shining stars looking down on me.

Dear Tina,
I am deeply saddened to hear about your loss of Steve and Zach.  I had the pleasure of meeting Steve in 2009 and working with him for many years on McCormick and Schmick's projects.  I very much valued the friendship that we built over the years.  Steve was truly a great person.  He and Zach will be missed. Tina, It has been a tough week for everyone and you have been in our thoughts and prayers.  Steve was a wonderful, loyal friend, remembering some of the times make us laugh (and cry).  One of our favorite sayings of Steve's was "just do it, I'll make it up to you on the next job," and he always did.  When Steve found a company or a contractor that he liked and trusted he always brought us in to work with him on all of his projects and we truly appreciated that over the years.  Another one of his favorite sayings was "I'm going to make you guys rich," while we can't say that that ever really happened we are all richer for knowing Steve, Zack and you.

Dear Tina, my heart just aches for you and your family! I don't know you but I was a classmate of your sister, Eva at Evans High School. Please know I am praying for you. I know this is a shock, you can't even believe it is happening. But, I do know that Jesus knows how you feel, what you need now, and how to hug you really tight....He's so good at letting you know He is there. I have experienced Him and His love and faithfulness for a very long time but over the past 1 1/2 yrs....in a brand new way. My sweet and precious love, my husband of almost 40 yrs moved to Heaven in April after fighting cancer for a year. I hurt and miss him so very much. But, I can tell you for sure that Jesus will be your strength, your strong tower that you can run to. I don't know if you know Jesus or not but please know that I will be praying for you..for the Peace that only can be found in Him....it truly does pass all understanding. I feel compelled to send my condolences to you.  My dad and Steve's dad where police officers in Stonington, CT years ago.  Every Christmas season, we would stop by the Miguel house and so I have know Steve since we were kids.  When the Miguels moved to Florida, Tony would stop by to see my dad whenever he returned to CT to visit.  Tony kept us informed of Steve's success at Disney.  When I picked up the paper tonight, my heart was filled with sadness.  What a tragedy.  I send my deepest sympathy to you and the rest of the Miguel family.

I first met Steve in 1994 while working on Hard Rock. Other than my friendship with Steve, I have always felt a connection to your family. My daughter Lydia was born on the same day in 1994 as Zach.
Steve was always there for me throughout my career and thru my cancer scare earlier this year. I will miss his kindness, thoughtfulness and quick wit.

On every trip I made to Florida after leaving FSG, I would always schedule a visit through Orlando just to visit and catch up with my friend, business associate and mentor. He was a true and dear friend!
