Velma Jean Schwenke, just two days shy of her 85th birthday, passed on to heaven on December 20, 2024. She was born on December 22, 1939 in Piatt County, Illinois to the late Richard & Lova (Bender) Schwenke. A feisty German lady who persevered through Polio, Velma used her life to change others’ lives as an educator, both in Kentucky and in Florida. In her free time, she traveled across the country with family, fishing in Minnesota…exploring Canada. Velma continued to delight in visiting with friends in her active social life into her golden years. She will be an inspiration to us always.
