

William Henry Flatt Sr. age 70, of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey was called home during the late afternoon on Sat. June 23, 2012, at Florida Hospital South, from complications that resulted from a massive stroke. Bill, as he was called by those who knew him, was born on June 4, 1942 to George and Catherine Flatt, at Dover General Hospital. He was 70 years old and had recently celebrated his birthday. A family man through and through, Bill was known to be at the center of any family gathering, always ready with a joke or a good story to share. He loved to make people laugh and was always more than willing to lend a hand when help was needed.
Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969 attaining the rank of Specialist 4. During the war he was wounded on a number of times, And still he continued to fight for his country. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him or came in contact with him.
He is survived by his faithful and supportive wife Margaret (Maggie) Flatt of Ontario, Canada and his three children William Jr. (Billy), Brian and Catherine (Sarah). He is also survived by grandchildren Christian, Marin, Matthew, Joshua, Joey and Jessica. He will be remembered by all with fond memories.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734 407-293-1361 on Tuesday June 26, 2012 from 6:00pm-7:00pm with the service to follow afterward. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513 Phone: (352) 793-7740, on Wednesday starting at 1pm.
