Wilma Jean Jones

Wilma J. Jones of Orlando, Florida went to her eternal rest on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born in Homestead, Iowa (Amana Colonies) on October 5, 1929 to Edgar H. and Minnie I. (Lipman) Roemig.

As an adult, she left Iowa and moved to California where she met her husband, William B. Jones. They were married in 1959. They left California in 1968 and settled in Florida to raise their three children. She was a homemaker for many years before returning to work in the retail business.

She enjoyed watching her son and grandsons play sports and attended many of their games. She was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan!

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years; parents; sister (Doris Burke); and brother (William Roemig). She is survived by her three children: Jeff Jones of Orlando, Florida; Lori Haskins of Orlando, Florida; and Stephanie Peeler of Eustis, Florida; a granddaughter, five grandsons; two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; brother (Charles Roemig) of Omaha, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. where she will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
