MATTHEWS, AGNES GERALDINE age 99, departed life Tuesday, January, 16, 2018 at the McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 Monday, January 22, 2018 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 1811 Seymour Ave, Flint, MI. Father Carl Simon officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Agnes was born September 13, 1918 to Mary Luvenia Williams and Eugene Harris of Knoxville, Tennessee . Geraldine (MaGerald ) affectionately called by all who knew & Loved her worked at Hurley Hospital giving 55 + Years of service retiring  in 1979 due  to Health. Before her declined health Geraldine's earlier years were spent being dedicated to family and a hard working Member of Christ The King Catholic Church. She was a member of The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court #90 for 60 + Years, Summer School Teacher at Clarke Elementary School, Original Member of "The Thursday Afternoon Club" and received  several Certificates Of Appreciation as well as a 2002 WOMAN Of DISTINCTION AWARD. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Homer Matthews, sister Ruby Marshall, daughter Jacquelyn Marchand Edwards, grandson Maurice Daniels, and great-great grandson Jonaries Holden. She leaves to cherish her memory: 4 grandchildren, Brenda Brown, Anthony Edwards, Detroit Mi, Melford (Tommie) Edwards Oxford Oh,and Gary Edwards Flint Mi, 4 great grandchildren devoted grandson& caregiver Derrick Walton, Flint Mi, Cassandra Marchand Gist, Atlanta Ga, Marchand  Williams, Tuyana Williams, and Gary Edwards Jr. 7 great-great grandchildren Derrick Walton Jr., Gary Edwards III, Ocean Marchand Edwards, Quinaries Holden, Nicholas Jenkins Jr.Billy Williams, Ty'Ana Williams, 2 great-great-great grandchildren Nykier Walton and Denzel Walton all of Flint Mi. Special nieces Sheila Philips Chattanooga Tn, Jacqueline Marie Edwards and Juanita Vaughn of Flint, Mi. , Special Friend Velma Stewart/god children Samuel, Robin & Sonya Stewart and Host of other friends & Family
