Bonnie Jean Massie

Bonnie Jean Massie, age 82, of Burton, Michigan, gracefully transitioned to her next spiritual journey on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Born on December 15th, 1941, Bonnie was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Her presence was magnetic, and she had a unique gift for making everyone feel cherished and uplifted. Bonnie's love for life was evident in her passions—whether she was dancing, singing karaoke with her friends, or claiming victories as a horseshoe and cornhole champion, she lived with a vibrant spirit that touched the hearts of many.

As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Bonnie's nurturing and loving nature was the cornerstone of her family's foundation. Her love for her family was boundless, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones. She was a social butterfly, whose charisma and beautiful soul could light up any room she entered. Bonnie had a deep love for music, often filling her home with the timeless voices of Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, creating cherished memories for those around her.

Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her siblings Diana, Ricky, and David Nelson; her beloved husband, Lester; their five children, Mike, Valerie, Rebecca, Deborah, and Melissa; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and joy continues to shine through them. She is reunited in spirit with her parents, Hannah and Denny Nelson, and her brothers Denny “Ben” Nelson, Terry Nelson, Clifford Nelson, and Robert Nelson as well as her precious granddaughters, Nicole and Candice Mansfield.

The family will receive friends and loved ones during a visitation on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. A second visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, both at the same location. Bonnie will be laid to rest during an interment ceremony at Flint Memorial Park, 9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, Michigan, at 3:00 PM.
