Born and raised on a family farm in Saginaw, Michigan, Catherine often shared warm stories of her childhood—riding horses, helping in the fields, and savoring the simple joys of country life. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for hard work, resilience, and the beauty of quiet moments.
While working at VA Hospital in Saginaw, Catherine met the love of her life, Clarence Davis. Their connection was instant, and they built a life rooted in devotion, mutual respect, and shared laughter. Together, they created a home filled with love, warmth, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals and fresh-baked treats.
A gifted needleworker, Catherine had a remarkable talent for needlepoint and crocheting. Her hands were rarely still, always crafting something beautiful to gift or share with others. Whether it was a meticulously stitched pillow or a cozy handmade afghan, her creations brought comfort and joy to everyone around her.
Catherine also had a passion for puzzles and games that challenged the mind. She found peace and pleasure in hours spent piecing together jigsaws or solving crosswords, often with a cup of tea nearby. These quiet pastimes were a reflection of her thoughtful nature and steady spirit.
Above all, Catherine was a woman of grace, kindness, and quiet strength. She cherished her family, friends, and faith deeply, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories.
She is survived by her brother, Bruce (Carol) Leuenberger; stepdaughter, Nancy (Bill) Ulman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Catherine Leuenberger; husband, Clarence Davis; siblings: Robert Leuenberger, Dennis Leuenberger, Wayne Leuenberger, and Rosalie Davenport.
The family would like to send a very special thank you to the staff of Edgewood Assisted Living and Optimal Care Hospice for the gentle, kind and compassionate care of Catherine.
In honor of Catherine’s wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.
Her hands may rest, but her warmth and love will remain stitched into the lives of all who knew her.
