LEWIS, Christine Catherine –age 66 of Burton, MI passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Medilodge of Montrose surrounded by her family. Per Christine’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 1:00PM at Brown Funeral home 1480 E. Hill Rd. Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Visitation will begin at 12:30PM. Rev. Kyle Brown officiating. Christine was born in Detroit, MI on October 28, 1947 to the late Joseph and Betty (Lewis) Haluska. She was a 1965 graduate of Kearsley High School. Christine married Larry Lewis on June 21, 1985. She was an avid bowler for 20 years. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, playing scrabble, euchre, and traveling the U.S. with her husband. Christine was a warm and generous person whose kindness was only exceeded by her natural born comedic timing. She had the ability to turn any situation into a positive and was often responsible for inciting fits of roaring laughter from her friends and family. “It is with those memories that we sorely say goodbye.” Christine is survived by her husband Larry, children; Tracy (Craig) Longtine, Steve Lyons and Korine Haluska, stepchildren; Larry (Stefanie) Lewis Jr., and Jason (Melissa) Lewis, siblings; Chuck (Susan) Haluska, Marcy (Pete) Volk, Jill (Bruce) Fishler, grandchildren; Tara and Troy Kassion, Gary “BB” and Maggie Lyons, great-grandchildren; Kami and Evelynn Lyons, and her very best friend of 48 years; Carol (James) Murdutt. Christine was preceded in death by her first husband; Gary Lyons, her parents; Joseph and Betty Haluska, and her beloved sister; Lisa. The family would also like to thank the staff at Medilodge for their exceptional care and sympathy at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation.
