Earl John Wright (aka Smily) – Age 91, left this Earth to be with his wife of 65 years, Doreen Marjorie Wright on December 25, 2014. Earl was born September 17, 1923 in Flint, MI the son of John and Mabel Wright. As a kid Earl delivered newspapers in Burton, MI for about 7 years and told many stories about it. He worked for Palace Coach Corp. Trailers from 1941 – 1943. Earl served his country in W.W.II in the U.S. Navy from 1943 – 1945. He owned his own Plumbing Business and later went to work for General Motors for 26 years and retired in 1985. Earl was a pilot and loved to fly his plane. He would tell Doreen, I love to fly the plane but I don’t like being a passenger. He knew what it meant to be a family man, hard worker and friend to all. What family and friends will miss most is his wonderful gift of humor and storytelling along with selfless humility. Earl is survived by his four children, Diane Newman of Burton, MI, John (Heather) Wright of Burton, MI, Carol (Robert) Tabb of Mesa, AZ, Jim (Mary) Wright of Montrose, MI; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
