It is with a heavy heart and in celebration of a life well-lived that we share the passing of our beloved mother. After falling and breaking her leg three weeks ago she passed away peacefully on the morning of November 2, 2023. My brothers Kurt (Lydia, Samuel & Eliana of Charlotte, NC), David (of Flint) and Mark and myself will deeply miss our beautiful, extraordinary mom.
Born and raised in Owosso, MI our mother was guided by her deep faith as a long-time member of Central and Hope United Methodist churches. After she retired as a bank teller, she volunteered working with children at Hurley Medical Center. Known for her kind heart and caring nature, she always listened and never spoke ill of anyone. She had many decades-long friendships for which she credited making her life full. Her favorite flower was the daisy — just like her — simply beautiful.
I'm not sure where she picked it up, but in recent years she started saying “life is short, eat dessert first." It is so simple, but true. To honor all we love, join us in enjoying a little more of life's simple, sweet pleasures.
Inurnment will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:30am at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan where she will be laid to rest with the love of her life, our father Floyd Carl Olmsted, who passed away in July of 2018.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brownfh.com for the Olmsted family.
