

She was born in Qulin, MO in 1930-something and grew up on a farm with her parents, three sisters and four brothers. She moved to Flint after graduating from Qulin High School, working for General Motors for a short time before moving to Washington D.C. and working for the Civil Service for a short time. She worked for various companies in Memphis, TN and back in Flint before returning to GM (as a secretary at Buick) in 1977, retiring in 1998. She then worked part time at Kettering University as an administrative assistant in Thompson Hall. She enjoyed hosting cook outs for the RA staff at her home at the end of each semester until again retiring in 2016.
Fran loved to cook, bake, entertain, do church work, meet new people, make new friends, shop, do yard work, eating out and enjoying the company of her large network of family and friends. She traveled to Europe in 2000 and went on a very memorable multi-country tour with a group of friends. She was affectionately known as Grandma Cookie by her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Jerry “Sonny” Webster (Jeri), grandchildren: Steven Wittenkeller (Angel), Hannah Gonzalez (Chris), Alexis Webster; great grandchildren: Delilah, Mabel and Lenore Wittenkeller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Jones; mother, Cora Jones; brothers, Curtis Jones (Jan), Carl Jones (Wanda) and Charles Jones.
A celebration of life will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Grand Blanc on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery, in Grand Blanc.
