

Donaldson, Freda L. – age 96, of Flushing, MI, passed away at The Regency of Grand Blanc on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering to celebrate her life on her birthday, November 21, 2014 from 4-8PM at Brown Funeral Home 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Freda was born on November 21, 1917 in Grand Rapids, MN to the late Isaac and Jesse (Newton) Newtown. She married Lloyd “Smitty” Donaldson in Flint, MI. Freda was a member of the Salvation Army for over 60 years and was a member of their choir. She also worked as a line worker for AC Sparkplug for 15 years. Freda loved to go shopping and was well known for her cooking and baking talents. Surviving are her three sons; Steven (Suzanne) Donaldson, David (Peggy) Donaldson, and Alan (Sandra) Donaldson, grandchildren; Kelly Donaldson, Dana Carlson, Nicole (Dale) Miller, Stephanie (Bill) Dupuis, Tyson Donaldson, Darrin Donaldson, and Chuck (Jodi) Hellinger, great-grandchildren; Lacie, Brook, Ty, Zander, Kayla, Taylor, Blake, Cole and Cody, 6 great great-grandchildren, and sister; Merle (Donald) Chrysler. Freda was preceded in death by her parents; Isaac and Jesse Newtown, husband; Lloyd “Smitty” Donaldson, brothers; Calvin Newtown, Ralph Newtown, and Earl “Buddy” Newtown, and sister; Lois Dingman.
