Helen A. Lackey

Helen was born on January 10, 1927, in Flint, Michigan to the late Alfred and Ada (Nichols) Slater. Helen was a graduate of Bendle High School. Helen was a very family oriented lady. In earlier years, Helen's family owned Lackey Market and they had two locations. Helen definitely had a green thumb and she loved taking care of her plants. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Helen leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Cheryle (Robert) Andes of Midland, MI; brother Richard Slater of Nashua, NH; sister Jean (Rex) Coffey of Clio, MI; grandchildren Christopher Lackey, Amanda Brunger, Jason Russell, Rachel Pence, Joshua Russell, Rebecca Lopez, Sarah Balogh and Carlye Andes; many great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Marla Lackey; and her best friend Jeannine.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Charles William Lackey, son Charles "Rick" Lackey, daughter Debbie Hillier, grandson Nick Andes, sister Martha Spencer, brothers James Slater, Glen Slater, William Slater, John Slater, sister-in-law Millie Slater, and son-in-law Shawn Hillier.

A memorial service for Helen will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Hill Funeral Home - 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan, with visitation one hour prior.
