Helen Elizabeth Lougheed

LOUGHEED, HELEN ELIZABETH age 100 of Grand Blanc, MI went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 20, 2012. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Flint Baptist Temple, 1430 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Rev. Donald Green officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. 48439. Interment at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Helen was born July 8, 1912 in Lattie, OH to parents Allen and Susie (Graham) Berry. She married Donald L. Lougheed Sept. 30,1932. Helen husband Donald and son James felt called to the Flint area in 1946 to start churches and serve the Lord. They foundered Twin Cities Baptist Church in Burton, Great Lakes Baptist Church in Burton, Bible Baptist Church of Flint and Flint Baptist Temple, where Helen had been a member for 60 years. She was the Pastors Wife, Church organist, pianist, soloist, Church secretary and Sunday school teacher during those years. Helen also taught Kindergarten at Atherton, Atlas and Argentine Public Schools for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She came to the Flint area as a family of three and is survived by son Dr. James (Adella) Lougheed of Flint Twp.; daughter Margaret (James) Wilson of Severville, TN., ; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jordan; sister-in-law Donna Berry of Dewitt, MI; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; husband Rev. Donald Loughheed ; son David Lougheed; daughters Dawn, Jean Ellen and Donna Cowoski, brothers Allen, Dallas and Charles Berry; sister Ethel Lougheed ; sister-in-laws Catherine Walters, Lemoyne Salmon and Arlene; brother-in-law Levere
