

LAWLER, JEROME J. age 80 of South Branch, MI, died Friday, May 30, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 612 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. MI. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Oakwood Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Rd., Saginaw, MI 48638. Jerome was born October 22, 1933, in Saginaw, MI to parents Harry V. and Agnes O. (Letherer) Lawler. He graduated from St. Andrews High School in Saginaw, then attended Central Michigan University, graduating with multiple degrees. Jerome was a life member the SEA, MEA and NEA. He was employed by the Saginaw Board of Education and taught at Jones School for 30 years. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Pius the X Catholic Church in Hale, MI and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison, MI. Jerome loved his cottage at Jose Lake and adored his grandchildren, playing piano with Christian and hugs from Julia. Surviving are wife Mary; sons Jerome J. Lawler II and John (Melissa) Lawler; grandchildren Christian and Julia; sisters Mary A. Hazzard, Colleen (Jim) Schultz, Sheila (Bernard) Schultz, Jacqueline Wiltse, Kay (Joseph) Stanulis, Muriel Lawler; brother-in-law Daniel Edlinger. Preceded in death by sisters Nancy Edlinger and Carol Wesolek. Contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or St. Vincent DePaul.
