Judith Anne Wise

Born on June 16, 1941 in Detroit, MI, Judy was the beloved daughter of Henry Jr. and Dolores Askew. She graduated from Pershing High School and attended Eastern Michigan University.

Judy was a prolific volunteer. Her love for animals was reflected in her dedication to The Humane Society of Genesee County where she served as Secretary on the Board of Directors for 12 years. She helped to establish the gift shop at Genesys Hospital and volunteered there for over 20 years. She also volunteered for Grand Blanc Community Schools and was a long-time member of the Junior League of Flint.

Judy loved to spend time with her large circle of friends and especially enjoyed their “Senior Outing” and “Gourmet Club” groups. She was a great cook and was once featured in The Grand Blanc News for her baking skills. She enjoyed golf, gardening, stock club, word games, and dancing at family weddings. She adored her grandchildren and rarely missed attending their many sporting events and concerts. Judy worked several years at a small retail clothing store in Grand Blanc and with her smile and warm personality, she quickly became a customer favorite.

Judy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond, who regularly referred to her as “the love of my life”. Judy is also survived by her daughters Wendy (Bill) White and Jenifer (Mike) Elinski; grandchildren Brian (Mackenzie Collins) White, Kristin (Jim) Sandberg, Bradley (Danielle) White, Eric Elinski, Lisa White (fiancé Will Sheehy), and Mark Elinski; great grandchildren Peyton, Oliver, Matthew, Theodore and Colin; and sister Linda (Tony) Lijoi with whom she was especially close. She was preceded in death by her brother Larry Askew, sister-in-law Sue Askew, and brother-in-law Clarke Hollands.

A celebration of life is planned for family and her close friends. Donations in Judy’s memory can be made to The Humane Society of Genesee County which will celebrate 100 years of helping homeless animals in early 2026.
