Jules Cantin

Cantin, Jules J., 85, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his residence. The Montreal, Canada native lived for many years in Michigan, where he was a successful restaurateur, before moving to Tybee Island. Committal Service will be held 2 pm Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel, 3415 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. Fr. James Swiat officiating. Mr. Cantin was a realtor with Solomon Properties and a communicant of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Holbrook and brothers, Emil Cantin and Nelson Cantin. Surviving are his wife, Dorothea Cantin of Tybee Island; son, Gregory J. Cantin of Tybee Island; daughters, Suzanne Ament of Oregon; Gigi Cantin of Los Angeles, CA; step-sons, Ronald Dowdy of Savannah and Keith Dowdy of Flint, MI; step-daughters, Kathy Trombley of Savannah; Sandy Vranich of Savannah; Debbie Henderson of Grand Blanc, MI; sister, Marie Pesant of Repentigny, Quebec; four grandchildren, Crystal, Jules, Lauren, Sarah; twelve step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
