MaryAnn (Smith) Osborn passed away peacefully at her home in Clare, surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Mary was born in Flint, MI on April 7, 1973. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She lived a full life in her short time on earth. Mary played sports throughout her high school years, with basketball as her all-time favorite. In her last few days she said, “I want to play basketball”. While dealing with Marfans Syndrome that led her to Jesus. She was never supposed to live long or have children. She proved us all wrong with her strength, safe to say she was a fighter. Mary coached her daughters AAU basketball teams. She loved being on a lake, especially her Aunt Florence and Uncle Chuck Dunning’s at Houghton Lake. Mary live and loved with all she had and gave all she could to her family and friends. She spent her last 7 years working hard as a bartender at DJ’s. You wouldn’t go into DJ’s without getting a hug from Mary. In those years every winter she would purchase many hats and gloves and hang them outside of her place of employment for the community to take if they needed. She created an event at DJ’s called the Angel Tree that would held the less fortunate families with Christmas presents for their children. She would never complain of her struggles and pain. She would say, “Someone else has it worse than I do”. If Mary was still here she would be telling all of us she is fine, don’t cry she home with Jesus and free of pain. Also, Mary would tell us we all have strength and love to give, don’t let it go to waste.
