HANSON, Michael J. – of Flushing, age 65, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI. Burial follows at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation 12 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Hanson was born March 7, 1950 in Waukesha, Wisconsin the son of the late Forest and Joyce Hanson. He graduated from Lake Fenton High School in 1968 and had been a member of the Eagles Club and the NRA and was an avid John Wayne memorabilia collector. Mr. Hanson had been employed as a General Supervisor by the Buick Motor Divison at Factory 3, retiring in 1994. Surviving are: children, David Hanson, Michael (Jessy) Hanson, Jr., Geri King, Scott Hanson and Jacquilyn (Troy) Belanger; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild due in September; and brother, Vernon (Marilyn) Hanson. Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his wife, Erma and by 2 sisters, Jacquilyn Ann and Gwendolyn Sue. “Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway” – John Wayne.
