Ralph Douglas Stephens

STEPHENS, Ralph D. – Age 85, of Flint, died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Brian’s House. Mr. Stephens was born May 17, 1926 in Richfield Twp. the son of John and Blanche Stephens. Ralph enjoyed his garden and feeding the birds. He ice skated with the Silver Blades until he was 75. He helped his children build their homes and was always there with his tools. Ralph worked for B & C Carriers and was a member of the Teamsters Union. On May 17, 1954 Ralph married Harriet Barbara Jackson and she survives him. Also surviving are children, Paula (Terry) Crossnoe, Scott (Diana) Stephens, John (Mary) Stephens, Linda (Bob) Giza; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother, Russell Stephens and sister, Keitha Rubel; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of McLaren Hospice for all of there wonderful care. Friends may visit the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Sharp will officiate. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park.
