O’DELL, RICHARD Guy age 79, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 8, 2012 at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, 9252 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Fr. Gene Geromel, SSC officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. 48439 with a Police and Fire Departments Memorial Service 6:00 P.M. Sunday. Richard was born May 9, 1933 in Flint, MI to parents Hiram and Philena (Graham) O’Dell. Richard was the retired Chief of Police for Mt. Morris Twp. and Detective in the Regional Investigative Bureau . He was also a volunteer with the Mt. Morris Twp. Fire Department. Richard was proud of his service in the U.S. Army. Surviving are wife Jane ( Marsh) O’Dell; children Karen (Kevin) Miller of Lennon, Michele (Grant) Wildman of Flushing; grandchildren Nathan, Joshua, Shiloh O’Dell, Shawn, Nelson, Andy Parsons, Travis Martin, Jaylen, Ty Wildman; 3 great–grandchildren; sister Harriet (Beardslee) Gregson, and “Sis”Pam Buike. Preceded in death by his parents; sister Helen Wilcox; brother Ronald O’Dell; son Richard N, O’Dell. Contributions may be made to the Community Resolution Center or the Flushing Christian Outreach Center.
