

GARZA, Rita (Alfaro)– age 69 of Flint, MI was called to Heaven this past Saturday, February 27, 2016 in her home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 2:30PM-8PM and again on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 10AM-8PM at Brown Funeral Home – 1480 E. Hill Rd. Grand Blanc, MI. A Rosary Service will be held at 7PM on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church – G-2316 W. Coldwater Rd. Flint, MI with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will take place at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Rita was born on August 10, 1946 in Flint, MI to the late Rito and Juanita (Mendoza) Alfaro. She graduated from Beecher High School in 1965. A year later she married Adam Garza in August of 1966. Rita, also known as Margaret or Margarita to many friends and family was a one of a kind special person who always was there for anyone that needed her. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and loved helping out whenever she could. She loved listening to all kinds of music, especially oldies, gospel, and Tejano and no one could stop her on the dance floor. She and her husband Adam would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary August 27, 2016. Rita is survived by her husband, Adam Garza; daughters, Mary, Christina (Mitch) Steffey, Andrea and son Armando; grandchildren, Santos (Amy), Andres, Marcos, Yolanda, Josh, Jessica, Jalyn, Deon, Nolan, and Alicia; great-grandchildren, Gabbrielle, Luiz, and Reina. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jose, Lorenzo, Rito, John, and Lad; sisters, Frances, Emilia, Celia, Mary, and Virginia. She loved all of her nieces and nephews. Rita also had a special place in her heart for Lisa Reed, Kimberly Moore, Bob and Martha Fisher, Maria Flores, Amy Hill, Anthony Hill, Terrlyn Bullard, and Nicole Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rito and Juanita Alfaro; daughter, Theresa Elena Garza; great-grandson, Nyko Miguel Garza; brother, Jesse Alfaro; and sister, Irene Rogers.
