January 16, 2012 at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand
Blanc, MI. Dr. Darrell Foltz officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Sunday from 2:00 to
4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Rita was born September 15, 1919 in Flint, MI.
to parents James and Aura (Coolman) Bockstanz. She was a graduate of
Flint Central High School and lived her entire life in the Flint area. Rita was
a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc, the Pi Omricon National
Sorority and the Michigan Bell Pioneers. Surviving are husband Richard E.
Myers; children Judith A. (Maynard) Guild of Ankeny, IA, Richard E.
(Jean) Myers Jr. of Grand Blanc, MI; six grandchildren; fifteen great-
grandchildren;several nieces and nephews; sister June B. Smith of Florence,
SC. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Vyrene N. Corkran.
