Thomas Loy Proffer was born on July 9, 1963 and unfortunately passed on March 13, 2023 due to heart complications. Tom graduated from Genesee High School in 1981, and attended Ferris State University. Tom was a Journeyman electrician, and was the first-born son to Jerry and Linda (Shears) Proffer. Tom loved to hunt, fish, and tell stories at every family event including the infamous “Proffer Corn Roast,” and Christmas parties. Everyone that knew Tom, knew that you wouldn’t ever be able to stray away from his cheesy jokes, faithful enthusiasm for life, and nonstop love for his family and God. Tom was a pillar in teaching the young children of his family about his Savior, as well as about conspiracies such as how to hunt down Bigfoot. Surviving Tom, is Linda Proffer (Mother), Eric Proffer (Brother), Carla (Sister-in-Law), Kelli Derr (Proffer, Sister), Todd (Brother-in-Law), seven nieces and nephews, and five great nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Proffer and great niece, Neveah Anton.
