Born on June 1, 1936 in Columbia, Utah, he graduated and later completed his master's degree from Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah where he met his wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen(Ferguson). Their family included three daughters, Jennifer(deceased), Mary Anne, and Becky.
Alan faithfully provided for his family as a dedicated sixth grade teacher for 31 years. His profound love for singing and music was evident as he participated in college musicals, taught school choir, and continuously hummed numerous tunes. He also loved raising cows and life on the farm.
Alan was a man of integrity and strong conviction, hard-working, dependable, and generous, yet his most notable quality was his love for the Lord. This adoration was the catalyst that touched many lives in his family, through school teaching, serving church family, and cultivating neighbor relationships.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ellen, daughter Mary Anne Breen(Joe), daughter Becky Sanborn (Jim), and grandchildren Jaycee Tratos, Isabella Owen(A.J.), Kieron, Liana, Mitchell Sanborn (Bethany, Rosalie), and Nicholas Sanborn (Shay).
