Alice Faye Westcott
August 29, 1923 - May 8, 2015
Alice F. Westcott, 91, passed away May 8th, 2015, at the Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, Colorado.
Alice was born August 29, 1923, and raised in Olathe, Colorado, to Isaac and Catherine Homewood. She attended Olathe High School and Mesa Junior College. Alice moved to Grand Junction in 1941. On March 25, 1951, she married Herbert Westcott (now deceased) in Grand Junction. Alice was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deaconess as well as being a member of Presbyterian Women's Association. She taught Sunday School Classes for ten years. She taught Vacation Church School five times and served as director twice.
Alice served as Worthy Matron of Grand Junction Chapter 103, Order of Eastern Star in 1969-1970. She also held numerous other positions within the organization. She was a driver for Meals on Wheels for 30 plus years and was also a Red Cross Volunteer at the Veterans Hospital for 44 years with over 4500 volunteer hours, working in occupational therapy.
Alice was an avid golfer and active in Lincoln Park Ladies Golf Club and Tiara Rado Ladies Golf Club.
Alice is survived by her son, John (Rhonda) Westcott of Centennial, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Eleanor Shawver and brother, Howard Homewood.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 15th, 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction.
