Alma Fern Dean

Alma Fern Dean was born to Alma Belle (Gardner) Harris and Oro William Harris on February 16, 1928, on Porcupine Creel near Rifle, Colorado. She attended Beaver Creek School through the 8th grade and went to Rifle High School. She married the love of her life, Floyd Robert Dean, on June 20, 1946. They had four children from their union. Floyd and Fern ranched at the Buckhorn Ranch in Collbran and owned and operated the Dean's General Store in Collbran, Colorado for 14 years. They retired to Grand Junction.

Fern loved to fish, play cards, work on puzzles, read, and spend time with family and friends.

Alma Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Robert Dean; her father, Oro William Harris; her mother, Alma Belle (Gardner) Harris; her brother, Harry Harris; and her sister, Faye Storla.

Alma Fern is survived by her children Gary (Lori) Dean, Donna (Charles) Donley, Dolores Dean, Richard (Reagan) Dean; her grandchildren; and her great- grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Martin Mortuary on March 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at Hope West Hospice Care Center 3090 N. 12th Street Unit B Grand Junction, CO 81506, Room 102.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope West.
