We are saddened to announce the passing of Barbara (Barb) Larimer, who passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on February 19, 2026, at Eagle Ridge Post Acute nursing home in Grand Junction, Colorado. A private cremation will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction, and a celebration of life gathering will take place at Crown Hill Mortuary in Denver, Colorado, at a later date.
Barb was born in Del Norte, Colorado, on October 26, 1932, to Robert and Louise Still. Barb was an only child. Barb graduated from Del Norte High School in 1950. After Graduation, she attended Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. She became interested in Nursing and transferred to Denver University in 1952; her nursing training took place at St. Luke’s Hospital, where she graduated from the Nursing School as a Registered Nurse in 1955.
She met Thomas Alan Larimer in 1956, and they were married on June 6, 1957. Tom and Barb made their home in Denver, Colorado, where they raised two sons, Robert (Bob) Larimer and Donald (Don) Larimer.
Barb and Tom spent time in Dutch John, Utah, and Estes Park, Colorado, during Tom’s National Park Service tenure in 1960-1961, after which they settled in Denver.
Barb worked in Hospitals in Denver and Pueblo before becoming an office manager for a medical firm in Denver from 1961 to 1975. She then worked in medical billing and supply for a private firm and then for Rose Medical Center until 1990.
After her nursing and office careers she worked for the Denver Election Commission. She volunteered for the Denver Zoo, and the Stock Show. Barb and Tom were long-time members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, supporting many philanthropic endeavors.
Barb loved to travel and went on many cruises and overseas trips. She went to Australia twice and Mexico and the Caribbean numerous times.
Barb enjoyed musicals, concerts, plays, and dinner theater, attending hundreds of shows.
Barb and Tom were enthusiastic Broncos fans, holding season tickets for decades, and attended Super Bowl 33 in 1999.
Barb was preceded in death by her loving parents, and her husband, Tom.
Barb is survived by her sons, Robert (Jenny), of Grand Junction, and Donald (Pam) of Glendale, Arizona, and grandson Stephen Lowrie of Grand Junction. She has three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
