Belle was an energetic and vital person who lived in two worlds - enjoying the good things of life while also being of a deeply reflective spiritual nature. She was a romantic who loved music and dance. She played golf, and was a life long swimmer and writer, and authored a book entitled “Dear Carol, Kitty, and Holly.” She played and taught the piano until she was 90. She loved cooking and hostessing in her home, which she decorated and tended with loving care to detail. She was an avid reader and explorer of the mind and spirit, and thought there was much to learn from the poetry and spiritual traditions of the world. Important to her was her sense of the inner Christ presence guiding her life. With zest and caring she shared her spiritual thoughts and insights with family and dear friends. She also volunteered in Grand Junction for many years, including reading to blind people and teaching writing skills to people with multiple disabilities. Belle will be sorely missed by her network of family and friends whose lives she touched and inspired so profoundly.
From her first marriage to Robert B. Daniel she had six children – Victor, Carol, Sterling, Kathryn (Kitty), Paul, and Holly. She later married Louis Motts and inherited three more children – Marsha, Pamela, and Tim. She is survived by her five daughters and their spouses in Colorado - Carol (Rod) Daniel-Winget, Kathryn (Eldon) McBride, Holly (Duane) Daniel, Marsha (Jewell) Singer, Pamela (Troy) Schnurr; and by four grandchildren Jonathan Daniel, Luke Daniel, McKenna Nelson, and James Singer, and their spouses/partners and children. Belle held all of these dear to her heart.
A celebration of Belle’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 7th at 2:30 pm at Redlands Community Center, 2463 Broadway. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to Hope West Hospice, which took such loving care of Belle and her family toward the end of her life.
