Bernice Chavarria

Bernice was born in Fruita,CO on Oct. 1,1937 to Benjamin and Luz Marez. She grew up picking produce the area was famous for at the time. She was the youngest of 7, all of whom preceded her in death.

She married the love of her life,Servando Chavarria on Sept.16,1967. They raised 3 wonderful daughters, 2 from her previous marriage. They moved to Rifle in 1987 and lived there for 19 yrs. They moved back to Fruita in 2006 after retirement.

Bernice loved sewing,crocheting,growing flowers,playing the piano and singing. She was a great homemaker. Her greatest love was sharing Jesus to anyone.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, her 3 daughters JoAnn(Phil) Alcon, Sandra(Brian) Sisneros, Connie(Tony) Hale,7 grand children Contessa &Alex Alcon, Nadine Villalobos &Eric Sisneros, Presten(Lisa),Megan &Lauren Hale, 4 great-grand children & many nieces &nephews.

Services will be at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary,11am for a private family visitation, 12-2pm for a public open house. A burial will follow at the Fruita Elmwood Cemetery for family only please.
