Betty Jane Mcbride

Services will take place at 10 a.m. today at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Survivors include two sons, Jim and John, both of Fruita; one daughter, Elaine Lehr of Grand Junction; one brother, John Fulfer; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Betty Jane McBride

January 9, 1932 - January 26, 2017

Betty passed peacefully, January 26, 2017.

She was born in Melrose, New Mexico, January 9, 1932, to John and Lessie Fulfer. She married Don McBride in 1948, and they enjoyed a 50 year marriage.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; granddaughter, Melanie; son-in-law, Joe, and sister, Dorothy. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children, Jim (Helen) McBride, John (Cindy) McBride, and Elaine (Joe) Lehr; and brother, John (Bobbie) Fulfer. She will also be greatly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was anticipating the recent arrival of her great-great-granddaughter, as that made five generations.

There are so many wonderful things to say about Betty. She loved to laugh, dance and enjoy her family and friends. She was the definition of love and kindness to her family, her dogs, and to everyone she encountered. Her mission of teaching love and kindness by example is now complete. She did a superb, outstanding job of it.

A celebration of her life will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
