Married to Roy Morgan in 1952, Billie resided in Long Beach, California. The couple then
relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1956, where their family grew with the birth of their daughter
Ramona. While living in Las Vegas, Roy and Billie were self-employed with A-City Pest Control
Company. Billie’s husband Roy passed away on September 1, 1977.
Billie met and married Robert “Bob” Edwards in 1982. They moved across the country to
Winterhaven, Florida and later to Lafayette, Georgia. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters
who lived within an hour’s distance. After Bob passed away in September of 2002, Billie left
Georgia and moved back to Las Vegas in 2004 to be closer to her daughter Ramona and her
family. In October 2019, Billie relocated to Grand Junction, Colorado to reside with her daughter
Ramona and son-in-law Mel.
Billie loved traveling and was able to take a trip of a lifetime to Israel, loving every minute of it.
Some of Billie’s other favorite pastimes included watching the birds from the porch, ceramics,
tending to her flowers and rose garden, growing her prized tomatoes, working on puzzles, and
the many lake trips she took in her younger years.
Most of all, Billie loved getting together with people. She always enjoyed entertaining,
celebrating the holidays, and just being present with friends and family. Billie valued attending
church as an active member of the Church of Christ in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was always
involved and loved attending the Ladies Bible Class weekly. After moving to Grand Junction,
she loved participating in luncheons at the Clifton Christian Church and meeting new people.
Billie truly never knew a stranger. She was a kind and caring woman known for her beautiful red
hair and warm personality. She will always be deeply missed.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Ramona (Mel) Mitchell; grandson, Morgan (Katey) Shorey;
sister, Georgia Campbell; brother, Buddy Qualls; brother, Johnny Qualls; stepdaughters, Sherrie
Mercurio, and Pam Cant; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Leila, Ruby, Shirley, Mary and her daughter Raven
Morgan.
A celebration of Billie’s life will be held at a later date in Las Vegas.
