Bryan John Dempsey

July 11, 1976 - August 17, 2015

Bryan Dempsey, age 39, passed on August 17th, 2015.

Bryan was born in Blair, NE to Kathy (Novotny) and Jack Dempsey. He lived in O'Neill, NE until the age of nine. In 1985, the family moved to Grand Junction and eventually Fruita where he met his wife to be. He had two children, Brad and Lindsay, who meant the world to him.

He was one of the hardest working individuals a person could know. Most recently he worked in the oil industry in North Dakota and Wyoming before settling back in Grand Junction where he was employed by Solomon Corporation as the yard foreman. He could be counted on personally as well helping anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Bryan lived life to the fullest. He wanted to fill his passport with as any stamps as possible. He most recently, on a whim, flew to Thailand for a week. He enjoyed the river with his friends as well as camping, hunting and fishing. He was a natural athlete who played tennis, basketball and football.

Wit and charm most defined his character. He always offered a broad loving smile and was instantly liked and or loved by the vast majority of those he met.

Bryan is survived by his son, Brad; daughter, Lindsay; mother, Kathy (Novotny); step-father, Mike Novotny; father, Jack and step-mother, Deb; brothers and sisters, Denise, Sue, Jack, Mary and Mike; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held from 3 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday August 21st, at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road. An informal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 22nd, at Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita. Denver Bronco apparel is encouraged.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, If so we saw it there.

Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say;

Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day.

Whatever you did to console our hearts,
